The pterygopalatine fossa is an important super-junction of nerves and blood vessels in the skull and it is difficult to visualize these dynamic, three-dimensional objects from static, two-dimensional photos. Emerging xR technologies allow for a 3D exploration of this complex space.

We combined a 3D scan of the bones of the skull with 3D modelling to create an interactive experience of the pterygopalatine fossa using virtual reality.
